Live Updates and Regatta Day Announcements
If there are any major schedule changes or the regatta is canceled while in progress for any reason, coaches will be notified and changes can be found at the Regatta HQ tent.
Location and Venue
This is an overview and info contained herein should not be relied upon for navigation: The rowing course is a straight 1000m sprint buoyed course. Boats will launch from the south dock, crews will row east across the channel then north (parallel to the course) reach the start line; landing will occur on the north dock. The boat ramp will have traffic control.
The finish line is inline with the launching docks.
Best viewing spots are along the east and west shore to the north of the boathouse, Squaxin Park and at Billy Frank Jr Park. Races can be viewed from start to finish.
Facilities include restrooms on the south side of the boat launch and port-a-potties.
Directions and Parking
We are located at 1022 Marine Dr NE, Olympia, WA 98501
Trailers may be parked overnight, but security will not be provided.
There is minimal parking available near the staging area and start line, and trailers, other official team vehicles, coaches, volunteers and those who are mobility challenged will be prioritized. More parking can be found within a short walking distance at the (very limited) guest parking by the Swantown Marina Office, Olympia Farmers Market and along Market Street NE. We are working with the Port to identify closer overflow parking.
DO NOT PARK ON MARINE DRIVE NE or in lots for marina tenants. You will be ticketed and towed if you park in those areas – don’t let it happen to you.
There are coffee shops and restaurants within comfortable walking distance in the nearby area and the downtown core.
Race Course
OAR will use a buoyed 1000-meter race course, with a clockwise approach path on the west side of the inlet (staying out of the channel) and a warm up area prior to the start line. Crews will launch from the north dock and return on the south dock, unless otherwise directed by the dock master. The course will be reviewed Sunday morning at the Coaches and Coxswains meeting. Please see maps and images below for reference (click to enlarge):
