The goals of the OAR middle and high school summer sculling camps are to develop skills, provide fun experiences on the water, build confidence, and foster a love for the sport. New rowers to the sport learn how to row while returning rowers take a slight break from the racing spring/fall racing seasons to have fun out on the water. Learn more about our youth program philosophy. Athletes will have the opportunity to get an introduction to both sweep rowing (with 1 oar) and scull rowing (with 2 oars).
To get started, we use iCrew for our registration process, payment processing, and applicable forms. New users can start creating their accounts here. Students will need to complete a Float Test prior to their camp commencing.
If you know a youth rower who is interested in rowing, but cannot afford the fees, or if you are a current youth rower and need help covering the cost, please consider applying for a scholarship!
Skills Camp (middle school and high school)
For rowers who already know the rowing stroke and have rowed for at least 1 competitive season (fall or spring) with OAR (or another rowing club/team), they may join for summer rowing where the focus is more on technical development and having fun!
Rowers who have been rowing with OAR since fall 2021 will need to join the team through their iCrew account directly.
Rowers who will row with another club/team and will be visiting in the summer can also row with us! They will need to create their own iCrew account and can get started here.
