OAR Boathouse Location

The Olympia Area Rowing boathouse is located at the head of Budd Inlet, at the Port of Olympia's Swantown Marina breakwater.

Note how the marina has grown since the 2002 shot.
The oval shaped field in back of the boathouse is capped toxic site. At some point in the future it will be paved over for a parking lot. There are plans for a narrow walking trail/park which will continue northwest from the boathouse along the shore to the northern-most point of the penninsula.

The view below shows the capped Cascade Pole toxic waste site behind the boathouse which will eventually turn into a parking lot. In the parking lot a few members will spot their cars. In the top right hand corner of the image the gray objects are giant wind mill blades which are imported into the country through the Port of Olympia. You can also see some logs waiting to be shipped to the far right.
